5:55 AM – Went to the small gym they have at the hotel. I worked some back and bi’s and then a 16 minute hiit and leg raises. I saw that video on how she got a six-pack in 6 months all with the effort of 3 sets of 20 leg raises everyday. I’m going to do it!

7:45 AM – Made oatmeal out of a kuerig. Turns out I bought the wrong oatmeal. I bought the hard kind. Had it with peanut butter, banana, and cinnamon. We will see how my stomach reacts!
8:30 AM – The gang left together to go meet at the Professional Student Development Workshop. There we sat with a group and did various series of ice breakers. There you as the questions “who are you”, “who do you pretend to be”, “who do you want to be”. The first and second were really hard for me to answer. Maybe that describes myself and how in touch I am with my identity and the identity I want to present to others.
The guy, Robin, who was my partner, was from Minnesota of two-cities. He actually carries the same position as me. Funny right? It was interesting to witness and learn how other university rec centers run. Some have stronger, larger programs than our own, while we also offer different trainings and their opportunities. I’d really want to learn more
of mental illness training. Also would like to learn further into changing our culture of language to make things more inclusive in the workplace and community.

There were series of panels of student and professional staff where students had the chance to ask questions. I feel most of it doesn’t apply to me. Constantly I am in a limbo of career choices, all of which I would like to do. But campus rec work doesn’t seem fulfilling you know? Don’t think I would get the same amount of satisfaction as I would in media or journalism.
3:00 PM – Our last session was the Opening Session where many speakers introduced awards, promotions, speakers, etc. One highlight
was that of the SPECIAL OLYMPICS which really introduced a new perspective on the program and how it’s for US not “them”. I hate that word.
5:00 PM – Lastly, we headed to the EXPO where there were so many businesses, products, and services. It was insane. Alex looked
into a tire flipper which was SO COOL. I so want that in the rec center, you don’t even know. There were so many high tech equipment I didn’t touch, but will most likely another day.
5:45 PM – I took a Body Comp test which was insane! Look at the results! The machine was $10,000. Hell.
6:15 PM – There was this hiit style workout I really wanted to part take in. We went through 3 rounds at 3 sessions, 12 minutes each. The coaches there really kicked my form which I really liked. They gave me pointers and really got me into the sweat. It wasn’t that hard to be honest. Wish I was stronger, but I had the endurance. Will be training more like that
in the future for sure. Afterwards the coach told me I didn’t even break a sweat! Can you believe that! HA!
8:00 PM – Now I am in bed writing this. Ate some bean soup with was amazing!

Woke up today at 4:45am. Didn’t sleep so well to be honest. Normally, when I have to be up early in the morning I don’t sleep well. Like when I open for the rec at 5:45, I don’t sleep at all.
Anyway, I woke up and went downstairs to gym to get a mini workout in. I pounded legs the day prior, so a small Hiit was all I needed. His some narrow squat jumps, high knees, burpees, and mountain climbers. It was actually pretty hard. 40/20sec x4. It’s important that I get better at hiit because I really enjoy it and something I can and do anywhere.
Everything was packed. Took a short shower and downed some lemon water. It was a big lemon.
Nathan and I met eachother at the lobby of UP. The security guard was pretty chill, cleaning staff where cleaning. We got onto the MAX to Pioneer square, waited for a few, and got onto the next. Nathan is pretty fun to talk to. He’s always got something entertaining to speak about.
The MAX ride as peaceful. Listened to “My Favorite Murder”. The episode was about this women that was killed by a house guest asking for a phone and bathroom. There wasn’t 911 at the time, so she called her boyfriend when she began to feel uneasy. Isn’t that crazy? Her past roommate eventually ended up being a private investigator so that she herself could reopen the case. Turns out anyone can become a private investigator as long as they are sponsored by an official and pass a test. That is pretty incredible to think that we are empowered to look into investigations
we find worthy or unjustifully left alone. She eventually ended up looking into the DNA and nailing the man to the death sentence. Hell yeah.
So that was on my mind during the ride. It was pretty beautiful. The ride to airport is always quite exciting you know? watching the scenery spin by. Feeling the tube shake like you’re a rattling pebble.
We arrrived with plenty of time. PDXis very easy to navigate. It’s very pleasent. We printed out boarding passes at the self check-in. From there we went to through security. My converse are a pain to get off. Why did I wear them? Oh yeah. They’re hella comfortable. Once we got to the
